Overview

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for our Analyst, Procurement opening to join our Global Strategic Sourcing organization. This role will be based onsite in Benton Harbor, MI.

 

Today, you might be performing financial analysis. Tomorrow, you’ll be identifying opportunities that leverage Whirlpool’s risk management portfolio. Later in the week, you may be working with a team from  Latin America or Asia to identify best practices that could potentially be scaled globally.
Your responsibilities will include
 

•    Drive monthly reconciliations of volume forecasts and settlement and hedge related financial results, communicate with the finance team and other business units pro-actively to achieve greater forecasting accuracy and timely financial entries and analysis
•    Provide guidance to commodity and business teams onboarding of suppliers into the settlement program through establishing contract language, initiating formal RMS training, updating system information, and clarifying other processes and procedures
•    Support sourcing commodity manager negotiations with suppliers on settlement agreements and to enroll potential suppliers into settlement program. Manage the settlement surcharge payment, resin rebills, as well as the payments discrepancies reconciliation     
•    Execute processes and procedures to ensure commodity exposures are identified, captured, and reported on a timely basis. Promote the use of automatic settlement process
•    Ensure settlement and hedge compliance through reviewing of executed settlement agreements, following up missing or outdated agreements, identification and evaluation of proper indexes and base prices, ensuring no missing part weight and hedge indexes correlation
•    Create and analyze financial reports and dashboard summaries for finance and senior management on a regular basis, such as hedge position analysis, Other Income Other Expense (OIOE), variance to plan and year over year performance
•    Manage market intelligence and track related data and reports on key commodities, industries, and global economies to enable preparation of monthly raw materials prices update and outlook report
•    Update and maintain accurate figures for all volumes, prices, hedging transactions information in the global hedge tracker and SAP; both actuals and forecasts.
•    Manage the subscriptions of the prices, bloomberg terminals, market reports, etc., including negotiating, getting approval and payment
•    Keep the team’s information systems updated and work with the GIS/Accenture team in development and refreshment of financial systems and regional roll-outs.  Oversee the application of existing systems
•    Partner with other business units and global regions to identify and facilitate business process improvements
•    Travel within North America and occasionally, internationally
 
 
Minimum requirements
 

•    Bachelor’s Degree
•    2+ years of Financial or Quantitative analysis experience

•    Solid analytical and quantitative skills

•    Interfacing and contributing to or leading multiple projects simultaneously
•    Computer skills with a high proficiency in MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Google Office Suite (Sheets, slides, docs, etc.)
