Overview

The Logistics Planner is responsible for conducting the day-to-day tactical activities of the logistics function at BrassCraft.  This role will manage the transportation needs of the BrassCraft Supply Chain across all modes of transportation for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. The Logistics Planner will be in frequent communication with cross-functional teams to support data request and logistics needs.  This includes administrative duties such as tracking orders and interfacing with customers and suppliers when necessary.

 

 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Award and coordinate transportation as required for key stakeholders
Decide on appropriate mode of transportation based on load details
Support Senior Logistics Analyst in bid processes to maintain optimal market rates
Develop and manage DOT Compliance, insurance and MCS-150/UCR Registrations
Provide tracking and tracing support for all stakeholders
Liaison with Customer Service to support returns, call tags, etc.
Troubleshoot and resolve carrier failures
Identify, evaluate, and onboard carriers and maintain carrier relationships
Process freight payment files and validate required data fields
Identify and manage opportunities for efficiency gains in the transportation processes
Manage claims process and decide on prioritization of claims filing
Create and maintain internal documentation for work instructions
Support the Senior Logistics Analyst in annual CTPAT certification activities
Coordinate and verify international shipment documentation
Ensure adherence to U.S. and international laws and procedures
Maintain country of origin data and routing guides in the ERP system
Support continuous improvement and cost savings efforts in all of Supply Chain
Communicate with third party partners supporting logistics functions
Foster an environment of inclusion in all interactions
Support and represent Logistics as necessary in Supply Chain meetings
Perform additional duties as needed and assigned
 

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or related field
Experience in logistics or transportation
Ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines
Comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Advanced level MS Excel user
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Experience with JD Edwards, AS 400 Systems
