Overview
Preventive maintenance on equipment, such as check lubrication levels
fill and grease, clean and pump press pans. Run recycle equipment, clean
and paint equipment. Assist some job set-ups where certain adjustments
may be required which would be outside the scope of set-up associates.
Provide assistance to Production Supervisor to train associates regarding
new or modified equipment. Perform other duties related to maintenance as required by supervisor.
Job Requirements
Strong ability to use independent judgment in determining work processes
and actual job performed.
Basic level of demonstrated competence in electricity/electronics, hydraulic/pneumatics, individual components, system and control configurations, associated schematics and documentation.
Basic mechanical knowledge, welding, plumbing, and machining.
Design and layout electrical distribution systems for the installation of equipment.
Design and layout plumbing systems (air, water, etc.) for the installation of equipment.
Perform troubleshooting for all equipment.
Perform repairs (to factory technology level) of air compressors.
Perform electrical repairs of all equipment.
Perform mechanical repairs (up to factory technology level) of all equipment.
Perform gas, arc, and heli-arc welding on various equipment.
Perform adjustments of vision systems and fiber optic systems.
Write technical data for set-up, checking, and troubleshooting.
Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
High school diploma or GED required.
Knowledge of arithmetic is required
Basic skills in oral and written communication
Comply with all Environment, Health, and Safety {EH&S}rules and procedures.
Computer skills – Use of CMM, Equipment software (PLC, OPI), OFFICE S/W
State certified DOL journeyman’s card/UAW maintenance machine repair card
Working Conditions:
Degree of Physical Demands (Strength) usually associated with this classification:
Moderate to Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly. Poundage varies tremendously due to diversity of duties. Involves walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching on a frequent basis. Involves climbing up to a height of approximately 25 feet.
Environmental conditions (Physical Surroundings) usually associated with this classification:
The associate is subject to environmental conditions common to a plant environment, including cramped conditions between presses and enclosures. Some exposure to loud noise and oil.
Environmental conditions (Hazards) usually associated with this classified:
Exposure to lethal voltages, energy from compressed air, pressurized fluids, rotational force, linear movement, and pinch points associated with machinery. Some jobs require great physical exertion.
