Overview

As a leader of the Engineering & Maintenance team, the Engineer Manager will be responsible to coordinate and direct the design, planning, construction, maintenance, project management and alteration of processes, equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities by performing the following duties personally through subordinate engineers and maintenance technicians. Oversees and responsible for the ISO14001 program.

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

Plan, budget, and schedule facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
Conduct feasibility studies for new products and expansion to existing product lines.
Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
Oversee the coordination of building space allocation, layout, and communication services.
Oversee and direct maintenance personnel and contractors engaged in installation and moving furniture and equipment.
Engineering and procurement of ergonomic assembly fixtures.
Develop plant manning and operation standards.
Control of all engineering, facility, and maintenance expenses.
Project management including automation cell design/function, quoting, vendor interaction and capital budgets.
Ability to understand and implement the use of machine vision for inspection and robot guidance.
Ability to implement and maintain industrial robotics including electrical, mechanical components, program setup and system troubleshooting.
Follow ISO14001 and IATF16949 procedures/processes.
Designates individual to serve as the Facility Environmental Coordinator (FEC) for the plant.
Actively participate in self-directed work team model.
Participate in plant recycling programs.
Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives by optimizing design (of layout, machines, etc.…) to produce quality product.
Manages Industrial/Mechanical Engineer, and Maintenance Technicians and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
 Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA); five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PLC ladder logic preferred (Control Logix, Micro Logix, Compact Logix & SLC500 – Rockwell Software).
AutoCAD
Experience with automation equipment (i.e., Industrial Robots, Automated Guided Vehicles & Vision Systems).
Experience with plant floor operations, including line/cell installations/rearrangements.
Experience with MOST
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
