Position Summary:
Assists with leading and managing the strategic vision of a Specialty Company toward continual, aggressive business growth in preparation for future appointment as General Manager. Supports culture in rapidly changing regional markets.
Essential Functions:
Develops Annual Operating Plan (AOP) which aligns with North American Specialty Company objectives
Communicates AOP and divisional priorities to aligning divisional activities with AOP
Maintains AOP and reacts and adjusts based on market conditions
Participates in corporate Long Range Planning (LRP) by providing market trends and opportunities
Understands the key business drivers and can provide support and direction in all areas of the business including:
Sales – Leads the sales function by participating in key customer interaction
Finance – Understands financial reporting and what actions influence key financial indicators
Human Resources – Leads the leadership development process to ensure the organization has the best individuals necessary to execute the AOP and support future growth. Is involved in key employee relation issues.
Warehousing – Understands KPI’s and recognizes opportunities to gain operational efficiencies
Transportation – Understands KPI’s and recognizes opportunities to gain operational efficiencies
Marketing – recognizes opportunities to enhance margin on the supply side, and drives the proper product mix to achieve divisional goals
Is visible to, and engaged in, all areas of the organization
Works with corporate to leverage resources and breaks down barriers
Has inspiring and influential communication skills with all levels of individuals at customers, suppliers, and GFS
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Must have budgetary skills and ability to understand forecasting models.
Must be able to think and plan strategically.
Must be able to communicate and persuade on both a strategic and tactical level.
Must be able to coach and motivate other company leaders.

MicroSoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer)

Educational & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor Degree – Preferred
A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor degree will be considered in lieu of a bachelor degree.
Minimum Years of Experience:
Five years leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience working in an organization of comparable size and complexity.
