Overview

Dow Public Affairs has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Communications Specialist. The primary location for this role is Midland, MI. Alternatively, the successful candidate may be based in the Greater Houston, Texas area or Louisiana, with the expectation of making frequent visits to Midland.

 

You will be responsible for delivering enterprise-wide communications to employees. You will partner with global Public Affairs colleagues and Dow leadership to reinforce and advance the Company’s strategy, build trust, support Dow’s reputation and brand, and protect and grow business value. Through strategic, multi-channel and integrated communications support, you may support a variety of internal and/or external work streams focused on engaging, educating and motivating employees. You will also support global projects.

 

Responsibilities

 

As part of the employee communication team, serve as first-level support to help manage Firstup and Dow Connect Technical Questions, including but not limited to:   

Troubleshooting access issues (12x/month)
Troubleshooting platform technical issues (2x/month)
Monitoring functional mailbox for technical questions (5x/month)
Engaging with Dow IS and serving as the PA lead on a variety of required actions like data privacy reviews, regulatory requirements, app releases and cyber security assessments
 

Lead the training, onboarding and ongoing support of 300+ content managers with access to publish on Dow Connect. Responsible for delivering:

Channel needs assessment, admin training, program access and initial training
Ongoing training and best practice recommendations
Connections across content managers, building a community that can learn from one another and elevate the Dow Connect enterprise program as a whole
Promotional and informational materials that communicators can use with their leadership teams or employee communications can share with end-users about the features and benefits of Dow Connect
Branded communication templates used for creating articles, emails and newsletters published and distributed through Dow Connect
 

Provide ongoing support, engagement and learnings for 300+ content managers. For example:

Develop content for and ensure engagement on the Dow Connect Admin Channel, regular office hours and large group meetings/webcasts
Monitor and publish user submitted content
Review comments – flag questions to SME’s
Support other team members on enterprise content submissions and publishing
Maintain relevant content on Dow Connect Intranet Site, accessible to both content managers and all end-users

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking
A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in professional communication
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
